Steve Miller – current Head Varsity baseball coach at Dematha High School and Co-Founder of the Rawlings A's Prospects. Former K.C. Royals Area Scout and Mid-Atlantic Scouting Supervisor for Detroit Tigers. Played at the University of Maryland, San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres. Former head baseball coach at Archbishop Spalding high school 2002-2010.
has been involved with youth baseball for over 6 years and has coached various age levels within our program. Most recently is was our 14u head coach that led his team to several tournament wins and a 2nd place finish in league play. Coach Shin is a graduate from Arundel High School and the University of Maryland where he served as a player / coach on the UMD Club Baseball team. Coach Shin’s players have experiences tremendous growth under his guidance and have found success both on and off the field. The high school coaching staff will provide assistance to the staff with practice and developmental training.
Aaron Carman is the current JV Head Coach at Marriott's Ridge High School in Marriottsville, MD.
Kenny King - has been apart of the program for the past 3 years and has served as the head coach for the Rawlings A’s Prospects 15u, 16/17u and previously as the head coach for Gambrills High Heat.
Brendan McGowan – former all MET player at Archbishop Spalding high school and pitcher at Catholic University. Pitching coordinator for the Rawlings A’s Prospects Prep team. Current Vice President of Baseball Operation for the Rawlings A’s Prospects and head coach of the Rawlings 16u.
Zach Jancarski formerly played centerfield for the University of Maryland and was the 2018 Big Ten Network Defensive Player of the year!! Zach has previously coached the Rawlings A’s Prospects 2022 Team.
Scott Peddicord - Graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County where he played baseball from 2006-2008 and was an All-Conference Outfielder. Coach Peddicord teaches at Mount Saint Joseph high school and for the past 9 years has served as the assistant head varsity baseball and football coach. Coach Peddicord for the past four seasons has served as the head coach for the Rawlings A’s Prospects 16/17u.
Ryan Metzler- will serve as the assistant to Coach Miller. A Glen Burnie native and Archbishop Spalding graduate, was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the ninth round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft Friday night. The infielder was the 264th overall selection in the draft and the ninth selection in the round
An All-Metro first-team selection after his senior season at Spalding, Metzler batted .515 and led the team with 15 stolen bases. He was also named to the Brooks Robinson All-Star team that year.
Kyle Lynch - Graduate of the University of Maryland. Played baseball through high school in Vermont (Milton Jr/Sr High) and started coaching after graduating college. Served as baseball commissioner of GORC for two years. Helped form the Chesapeake Baseball Association in 2009 and served on their board of directors. Current head coach at Southern high school and the Rawlings 2020 Team.
Wes Adams has over 16 years and 500 games of coaching youth and high school baseball. Coach Adams was a 4 year starter at Amherst College and was a 3 time all New England Player, Most Improved Player, Cooperstown Collegiate All-Tournament Team, career BA, HR leader, single season HR records. Coach Adams played professionally for the Rhode Island Tiger Sharks, Catskill Cougars, 1996 N.A.B.L. Champions. In addition, he has coached the Rawlings A’s Prospects 13u teams and 2020 team since 2016.
Dan Murphy is the current assistant coach at St. Mary's high school.
Justin Morris - Graduated from DeMatha high school where he was named first team All-Washington Capital Athletic Conference and first team All-Met by the Washington Post for two years straight. Went on as a scholarship athlete to play at Maryland University. Has coaches and instructed on all levels of youth baseball and currently serves as the catching coordinator for the Rawlings A’s Prospects program.
Charlie Chaffin – former catching coach at Hillsboro high school (Beaverton, OR) and Coppin State University. Current head baseball coach at Old Mill high school.
Coach Dave Marvel pitched at Pfeiffer University and is the current pitching coach at MSJ high school.
Michael Fiels and Marshall Knight have previously coached 10U at Crofton Baseball. Both will focus on the program philosophy of teaching the basic fundamentals of player development. The high school coaching staff will provide assistance to the staff with practice and developmental training.
Tim Rathell and Jay Freschi have years’ experience coaching 12u baseball. They are heading into their third season coaching our 12u team and are wealth of knowledge with the Cooperstown Dreams Park process. Coaches will focus with the Rawlings Prospects 12U team is to teach the game the “right way”, win a lot of games, and help your player develop fully and reach his baseball goals. The high school coaching staff will provide assistance to the staff with practice and developmental training.
Jackson Slotterback has an extensive playing career with St. Mary’s Annapolis high school, Hood College and Stevensville University. Coach Jackson coaching career began in 2016 with the Rawlings A’s Prospects 16u team and has continued with Maryland Monarchs Collegiate Team and Gambrills 14u. Coach Jackson’s players have experiences tremendous growth under his guidance and have found success both on and off the field.
Mike Slotterback has over 25 years of coaching experience including time coaching at St. Mary’s Annapolis high school. In addition, he has coached at various youth programs around the state, the most recent as, the assistant head coach for the Rawlings A’s Prospects 2021 team.
Beau Brown has been a staple in the local baseball community for several years now. Coach Brown has previously coached the Kent Island 10U and has been with the Rawlings A’s Prospects for the past three season’s coaching the 11U, 12U and 13U Prospects. Coach Brown led the inaugural visit of the Rawlings A’s Prospects 12U visit to Cooperstown Dream Park. Coach Brown led our 2018-2019 13u team to a very strong season earning high accolades from Perfect Game Top 50 teams.
Bob Lamb has over 30 years of coaching experience including time coaching in college and high school. Bob served on the high school staff at Annapolis and South River and at Essex community college. In addition, he has coached at various youth programs around the state, the most recent as, the head coach for the SYRA 14u who won the 2018 CBA Championship
