Announcing Carly Martin

Carly Martin is a local standout from the DMV area. She began playing competitive travel softball at the age of 9 and developed the skills of a well-rounded Fastpitch athlete, with a passion for competing on the mound.
Carly worked with two men's Fastpitch hall-of-famers, Jim Rinehardt and Jack Crandall, who developed her pitching skills to compete at the highest level. Earning the number one pitching spot as a freshman when she entered high school, she competed in the Maryland IAAM A conference all four years. Pitching for Seton Keough High School, Carly led her team to the championship game her junior and senior year, winning the conference championship her senior year in 2007. Throughout her high school career, she was named All-City and All-conference all four years, as well as All-Metro her last 3 years.

Carly was recruited up and down the east coast for collegiate level Fastpitch, but ultimately decided to take the scholarship offer to attend Howard University in Washington, DC, as she was determined to play Division 1 close enough for her father to continue watching her games. Here, she earned accolades throughout every season, such as being named conference player of the week numerous times and defensive MVP of the year. With an early career background in personal training and strength/conditioning, Carly puts an emphasis on the importance of physical fitness and nutrition in hopes to educate Fastpitch players leading into their collegiate or Olympic careers. She also recently completed a graduate program, earning her Master's degree in Sport Psychology from Ashford University in 2019. She has been developing pitchers in the DMV since 2012 and continues to offer her knowledge and passion for young women in the area.
